UNITY 3.0 is LIVE!

Some of the new features include:

Easy-to-use multi-page editor

The user experience of the new site editor for mobile landing pages is extended to basic multi-page sites (the Engage service plan). The editor can work with more pages and it supports several more content elements (simple menu, video, ready-to use forms, data feeds, internal links) but it remains very simple. The UX is similar to the current 1-page editor. There is an additional control element to select and manage pages.

Redesigned applications

The existing apps are simplified to optimize their start-up time and the size of packages. The current proprietary protocol doesn’t bring the benefits anticipated by end users. The new light-weigh apps focus on fewer features – small installable package, own icon, fast launching. The application pages in the platform’s UI are re-organized; the top-level Mobile Applications category is removed and pages reduced and merged into Mobile Sites sub-categories.

Social networks as new distribution channels

The existing distribution channels – QR codes, SMS messages and emails – are extended with new social media based channels: Twitter and Facebook. The Twitter distribution channel posts tweets using an account selected by publisher. The Facebook distribution channel posts status messages to the wall of an account selected by publisher. All distribution pages are reviewed and unified.

Revision of reports

All current reports for publishers and administrators are reviewed and reconsidered from the perspective of value for publishers. There are two new reports available: Distribution Channels to track the origin of visitors, using the platform’s distribution channels, and Top Content which track the views of the content (pages, media). Some reports are removed (Activity, Rich Media) as not needed anymore.
